Where to Eat in Keswick and Locally to Us
If you’re not sure where to eat in Keswick, we have listed some places where we have eaten and enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service.
The places are not listed in any particular order or carry our endorsement, but we’ve enjoyed ourselves when we’ve eaten out 😃
There are, of course, many more places to eat but these are a few to get you started.
the chalet, portinscale
This cafe/restaurant is open throughout the day and best of all it is literally 1 minute’s walk from our front door!
There is outdoor seating in addition to the main restaurant area
Cater for Vegetarians and Coeliacs
They serve snacks, main meals and afternoon teas.
There are always a couple of different ‘Specials"‘ each day to add to their main menu choices.
They have a good selection of cakes
Farmers arms portinscale
The Farmers Arms is only a 3 minute walk from our front door.
A nice cosy local village pub, and handy if you want to go for a drink outside of Keswick
swinside inn, newlands valley
This is a very old coaching inn, dating back to 16th Century when it was originally built as a barn.
It has a great beer garden with stunning views across the Newlands Valley
Offers a great selection of main meals and lighter dishes and some good beers.
A great place to stop after a walk and rest your feet in the sun with a pint and food.
The George Hotel, Keswick
The George offers really good pub food, which is excellent value for money, with home cooked local food.
The George is one of the oldest hotels in Keswick, built in 1665.
Casa Bella, Station Street, Keswick
If you like Italian food then this is the place to go.
A good selection of pasta and Pizza dishes
Their gluten free garlic bread is so nice!
Make sure you book early as this restaurant get booked up.
Caters for Coeliacs and vegetarians

A great little restaurant with a really good selection of dishes on the menu. Let them know if you have any dietary needs and they will make sure they provide something really tasty.
The staff are really helpful
The Confit Duck and Lamb Shank are really good.
Square Orange
Known locally as The “Squorange”. It is an unexpected gem found in St John’s Street, Keswick. With a full bar, specialty coffee menu freshly made stone-baked pizzas, and live music evenings; the warm and welcoming atmosphere is one you will find hard to leave!
The food here is cooked to order (in a corner behind the bar) and is really good.
They do some great desserts of the moment which you should always leave a little room for.
Woodstone Pizza & Flamegrill
Dine in or take away options - pizzas, burgers, steaks and kebabs.
